The HUUM Drop is a wall-mounted electric sauna heater made in Estonia, built around one idea: more stone. It holds 55 kg (121 lbs), which HUUM points out is more than most wood-burning heaters. Four sizes cover sauna rooms from 106 to 459 cu ft, and every size runs from HUUM's UKU control. We stock all four in Ontario.

Built for mild, lasting steam

A full 55 kg bed of stones is what gives the Drop its mild, long-lasting steam. The design is compact and rounded with stainless steel details, and it earned HUUM a Red Dot design award in 2015.

Electrical requirements

All four sizes run on 240V single-phase power. The 4.5 kW and 6 kW need a 30 A breaker on 10 AWG wire. The 7.5 kW needs 40 A on 8 AWG. The 9 kW needs 50 A on 8 AWG. Wiring must be done by a licensed electrician.

Controls, stones, and options

The Drop has no onboard controls. It runs from the UKU control system, sold separately, with panels in glass, classic, or wood. You will also need 55 kg of sauna stones, 5 to 10 cm in diameter. We supply two options alongside the heater: a safety railing, which HUUM strongly recommends, and a drip tray that helps keep the sauna clean and dry.
