The HUUM Drop uses two element sizes, 1.5 kW and 2 kW, and the mix depends on the model. This is the 1.5 kW element. HUUM treats heating elements as consumable parts, so they sit outside the heater's warranty; when one reaches the end of its life, you replace the element, not the heater.

Refilling the stones

HUUM's Drop manual asks for stones laid between the elements, so they support them and keep them from touching, without pushing hard enough to bend them. Keep the elements covered: water ladled straight onto an element shortens its life. The Drop takes about 121 lb (55 kg) of stones, 2 to 4 in across. Turn the heater off at the breaker before you open it. Any electrical work on the heater is a job for a licensed electrician.
