This is the larger of the two HUUM Drop elements. A Drop 6 uses only 2 kW elements, three of them, and a Drop 9 places two on the outside of its five-element set, with three 1.5 kW elements between them.

Match the element to your Drop

• Drop 4.5: 3 x 1.5 kW
• Drop 6: 3 x 2 kW
• Drop 7.5: 5 x 1.5 kW
• Drop 9: 2 x 2 kW (outer) and 3 x 1.5 kW (middle)

Drop 4.5 and Drop 7.5 owners need the 1.5 kW element instead. Replacing on a Drop 9 often means both sizes, so check which positions have failed.

After the swap

Lay the stones back between the elements so they hold the elements apart without bending them, and cover them fully; HUUM notes that water ladled onto a bare element shortens its life. Power off at the breaker first, and leave the heater wiring to a licensed electrician.

Worth knowing

HUUM's Drop warranty treats heating elements as consumable parts, so replacements aren't covered.
