HUUM describes the heating element as the replaceable part inside the heater, to be swapped once its useful life is over. This is the 2 kW HIVE element, and the HIVE Mini 6 uses three of them.

Which HIVE takes this element

• HIVE Mini 6 (6 kW): 3 x 2 kW, this element
• HIVE Mini 9 (9 kW): 3 x 3 kW, a different element
• HIVE Mini 11 (10.6 kW): a 3.5 kW element instead

For a full-size HIVE 12, 15 or 18, confirm the element for your model before replacing it.

Protecting the new elements

HUUM's HIVE manual asks for stones laid between the elements so they're supported and kept apart, without bending them, and for the elements to stay covered, since water ladled onto them shortens their life. The HIVE Mini takes 331 lb (150 kg) of 2 to 4 in stones. The HIVE's air tunnel also protects the elements: HUUM says it keeps them from overheating and supports them structurally. It's standard on HIVE heaters made from 2025; for older heaters it's a separate part. Power off at the breaker before opening the heater. Electrical work is for a licensed electrician.
