Sauna stones are the part of a heater that produces the steam. Wellendi sauna rocks are olivine diabase, harvested from the shores of Lake Huron in Ontario.

Why olivine diabase

It brings four properties to a sauna. High heat retention, so the heater holds temperature between pours. Low porosity, which minimizes cracking and extends stone life. Thermal stability through repeated heating and cooling. And it's free from harmful substances.

This size

2 to 4 in (5 to 10 cm), suitable for electric sauna heaters and wood-burning sauna stoves. Check the stone size and type your heater manual calls for before ordering. Our 4 to 6 in size is the other option.

Quantities

20 kg (44 lb) boxes, or by the pallet at 60 boxes for a commercial fill or a dealer. Work from your heater's stated stone capacity rather than guessing.

Before you fill

Rinse the stones thoroughly, then stack them loosely so air moves between them for even heat. Tested and approved to international aggregate standards.

Not for

Fire pits or cooking. These are sauna stones and nothing else.
