Narvi Kaamos Wood Burning Sauna Heater
Cast Iron Door with Glass.
Up to 176 lbs (80 kg) of Stones.
Choose Kaamos 16, 20 or 24.
Kaamos means "Polar Night" in Finnish, and this Narvi wood burning sauna heater keeps to a minimalist look: an angular exterior, a simple black upper frame and a matte finish. Narvi handcrafts Kaamos stoves in Finland.
Built for a clean burn
A large, robust grate and a rear air circulation system help the heater burn cleanly and efficiently. Its cast iron door with glass lets you watch the flames, resists warping during use, and has a wooden handle that is comfortable to hold. Under the paint sits corrosion-protected steel, and a 0.4 in (10 mm) firebox roof adds reliability.
Choosing a size
Kaamos 16: 282 to 565 cu ft (8 to 16 m³), 110 lbs (50 kg) of stones.
Kaamos 20: 353 to 706 cu ft (10 to 20 m³), 132 lbs (60 kg) of stones.
Kaamos 24: 424 to 847 cu ft (12 to 24 m³), 176 lbs (80 kg) of stones.
Setting it up
Stability and installation are simpler thanks to adjustable feet. Connect the flue at the back or top; a short connection pipe comes with the stove. Allow at least 12 in (300 mm) at the sides, 8 in (200 mm) at the rear, 20 in (500 mm) in front and 50 in (1270 mm) above. A concrete floor at least 2 in (50 mm) thick can carry the stove directly, while combustible or tiled floors need a Narvi installation base.
Rocks and accessories
Olivine diabase or vulcanite stones of 4 to 6 in (10 to 15 cm) are Narvi's recommendation. Add rocks, a chimney adapter, a chimney, a floor plate and a back wall shield as you configure it here.
