Choose Kuru 14 or Kuru 20.
Live fire stays in view through the glazed door of the Narvi Kuru, a wood burning sauna heater from Narvi of Finland designed for smaller saunas. Painted black, the steel housing pairs with wooden handles that keep everyday use easy and simple.
Sizing
Kuru 14 suits rooms of 282 to 494 cu ft (8 to 14 m³) and holds 77 lbs (35 kg) of stones. The larger Kuru 20 covers 353 to 706 cu ft (10 to 20 m³) with 88 lbs (40 kg) of stones.
Installation
Set the Kuru directly on a concrete floor at least 2 in (50 mm) thick. On a combustible or tiled floor, or with underfloor heating, Narvi requires its installation base. For a combustible floor, sheet metal must also reach at least 16 in (400 mm) in front of the heater. Flue connection runs from the top or back through a 4.7 in (119 mm) outlet, and the smoke flue must meet class T600. Minimum safety distances are 10 in (250 mm) at the sides and rear, 20 in (500 mm) in front and 54 in (1350 mm) above. Using Narvi protective wall shields, you can shorten the rear and side distances.
Fuel and first firing
Burn only natural wood logs with a moisture content below 20%. Preheat the stove outside on a non-combustible surface before it goes into service, and do not create steam during that first heating.
Pair it with
Narvi recommends olivine diabase stones of 4 to 6 in (10 to 15 cm). It pairs with rocks, a chimney adapter, chimney, floor plate and back wall shield. Keep logs close at hand in the Narvi Wood Basket.
