This is the refill, not the starting point. The KIUASSUOLA salt sits on an ILMARI KUURA soapstone base on your heater, where it warms slowly and responds to the humidity in the room rather than dissolving all at once. When one is used up, a new one goes on the base and the ritual continues.

What is in the pack

Two KIUASSUOLA Sauna Ritual Salts. Three combinations are available: two Atlantic sea salts, two Himalayan mountain salts, or one of each. The Atlantic salt is sourced from Portugal, the Himalayan from Pakistan, and both are designed and manufactured in Finland.

How long one lasts

Roughly two months of sauna use at twice a week. The base holds a small safety margin for moisture, so a new salt goes on once the previous one is almost fully used rather than the moment it starts to shrink.

How to use it

Water is poured onto the sauna stones as normal, never directly onto the base. The natural moisture reaching the salt is enough to activate it. When only a little salt is left, either let it evaporate off with a small amount of hot water or lift it from the cooled base before placing the new one.

What is not in it

No fragrance and no additives. This is mineral salt on stone, which is the point of it: the effect comes from the material rather than from anything added to it.
