A seat cover adds hygiene to the sauna: it keeps the bench clean. This is the single-seat size, 18 x 22 in, from Jokipiin's Mänty collection. Mänty is Finnish for pine.

Why linen

The cloth is 50% linen and 50% cotton, flat-woven. Linen absorbs a lot of water and dries quickly between sessions. Linen is also naturally antimicrobial, giving extra protection against musty odours. Both fibres soften with use.

Design and origin

Part of the Vappu Saunassa collection, designed by Vappu Pimiä and woven in Finland by Jokipiin Pellava. White and black.

Sizing up

If you want to cover a full bench rather than one seat, the same design comes as an 18 x 63 in bench cover. Machine washable; care instructions are in the package.
