An outdoor sauna left bare goes grey within a year of Canadian winters. ALIS protects against that UV discolouration, and Light Teak is one of the four colours we stock.

Three products in one can

ALIS is a sealer, a protective oil and a stain at the same time, so one application does the work of three.

It does not peel

This is the practical difference between an oil and a film finish. Nothing sits on the surface, so nothing chips, flakes or lifts, which means maintenance usually involves no sanding unless the surface is damaged. You clean the surface and put on a thin coat.

What it protects against

UV, which is what discolours exterior wood, and weather in all conditions.

Applying it

Roller, brush or spray gun on clean, dry, bare wood, with 12 to 24 hours drying between coats. It cannot go over wood that has already been painted, stained or varnished.

Coverage

Coverage depends on the surface: rough-sawn or profiled boards take considerably more oil than planed or sanded ones, and the rougher the wood, the darker the finished colour. Test on an offcut first.
